A lotion applicator for your back extends your reach, but the handle, sponge attachment and replacement pads can differ between models. Choose around the movement you find comfortable and the product you want to apply, then check the matching refills.
This guide compares the BakSlap Lotion Applicator and Easy-Reach Lotion Applicator listed at Sensory Assist. Both sit within our Daily Living Aids collection. The guide supports choosing between them; the product pages show current colours, availability and pack details.
Start with reach, grip and the task
Think about the area you want to reach, where you would hold the handle and how much space you have to move it. An extended handle length does not tell you whether a particular person will find it comfortable. Consider the angle of the head and whether you can open, close and hold the applicator easily.
Also check the instructions for the lotion or cream itself. An applicator is a tool for spreading a product, so its suitability does not replace the product's own directions. If you are unsure whether a particular cream can be used with a sponge, confirm that before buying.
BakSlap: extendable handle and replaceable sponges
The BakSlap Lotion Applicator has an extendable handle, a protective lid and sponges attached with hook-and-loop fastening. Quintro describes it for lotions, creams and gels, including use on areas that are difficult to reach.
Compare this design if you want to extend the handle for use and cover the applicator head for storage. Check how the lid and handle work for you rather than choosing on colour alone. Replacement sponges let you retain the handle when the pad needs changing.
Pack contents can vary between BakSlap versions and listings. Our supplier and the manufacturer's current Original listing show different included sponge counts. Check the exact pack supplied if this affects your choice; do not assume that a newer version or a bundle has the same contents as the item you are ordering.
Easy-Reach: folding handle and enclosed pad
The Easy-Reach Lotion Applicator uses a curved, folding handle and a contoured pad area. Quintro lists an open length of 380mm and a closed length of 197mm, with the sponge enclosed when folded. The hinge locks open for use.
The current supplier listing specifies one included sponge. This is a useful distinction when comparing the applicator with a separate replacement pack: a refill listing does not include the handle.
Consider the folding design if compact storage matters to your routine. Before ordering, check whether you can operate the hinge comfortably and whether the head shape suits the area you want to reach. Overall length alone is not a reason to assume either model will be easier for you.
Match the replacement sponge to the applicator
The simplest way to avoid an incorrect refill is to match both the brand and model, then check the product code. Similar-looking pads and hook-and-loop attachments do not establish compatibility.
- BakSlap Original-style lotion applicator: see BakSlap Replacement Sponges (x3), supplier code 36013. Quintro identifies this as the replacement pack for its BakSlap Lotion Applicator.
- Easy-Reach Lotion Applicator: see Easy Reach Replacement Sponges (x2), supplier code 36009.
BakSlap also has a separate Beauty range. Its manufacturer identifies the black Beauty washable sponges as exclusive to that applicator. Do not substitute them for Original refills based only on the BakSlap name. If the model on your handle or packaging is unclear, ask us to confirm the match.
Choose useful extras without duplicating the handle
If you already own a working applicator, start by checking whether you need only a replacement sponge pack. If you are buying your first handle, check what is included before adding refills. A matching spare pack may be practical for regular use, but it should have a clear role in your routine.
Keep the care instructions with the applicator. BakSlap advises keeping the handle out of direct sun where possible and removing the sponge so the applicator can be rinsed separately. Follow the instructions supplied with your exact sponge and handle; do not assume that every pad can be cleaned in the same way.
Before you order
- Choose between extending and folding handle designs.
- Check the reach, grip and head angle against the task.
- Confirm the included sponge count for the exact version.
- Match refill model and product code, not just colour.
- Check the selected colour's current availability and the care instructions.
Compare the two applicators and their refills in Daily Living Aids. For a pack-content or compatibility question, contact Sensory Assist with the product name and any model code from your existing applicator.
