This range brings together individual learning and sensory supports for school students. Age guidance, fit and intended use differ between products. Choose for the student and task rather than assuming every item suits every school age.
How do I choose a support for a student?
Start with a specific task or preference, such as writing, communication, sound or seated movement. Involve the student in choosing where practical. Trial a small selection and review what they choose to use before adding more.
Will the school allow these products in class?
Discuss the proposed support with the student's teacher before introducing it. Agree when, where and how it will be used, considering classroom routines, other students and any supervision requirements.
Are all products quiet and non-disruptive?
No. Some fidgets make sounds, mechanical timers tick or ring, and other timers may sound an alarm. Consider sound, space and the student's use of the item. A product can suit one setting and be distracting in another.
Can these supports be used during exams?
Ask the school's assessment coordinator before using a support during formal testing. Classroom permission does not automatically mean assessment approval. Confirm the relevant rules and any adjustments well before the assessment.
Are liquid timers accurate countdown timers?
Liquid timers provide flowing colour to watch rather than a precise countdown. For an activity requiring a set duration, choose a purpose-built countdown timer and follow its instructions.
Can fidgets and chew products be used in the same way?
No. Only use products specifically designed for chewing as chews. Wearable hand fidgets and other sensory accessories are not automatically chew-safe. Follow each chew's age, supervision, cleaning and replacement instructions.
Can students share these products?
Keep chew products for individual use. For other shared supports, follow product-specific cleaning instructions and inspect for wear, loose parts or damage. Check school hygiene and supervision arrangements.
How should I choose hearing protection or seating?
Check the individual product's dimensions, fit and any load limits. Hearing protection needs a suitable seal around the ears. Seating should fit the user, desk and available space. Age alone does not establish fit.
Will these products improve focus or reduce anxiety?
Responses vary. Choose a product for its practical function and the student's preferences rather than expecting a guaranteed change in focus, behaviour or emotions. Review whether it is useful for the intended task.
Can these products also be used outside school?
Some individual supports can be used during homework, travel or other routines. Check each product's instructions and choose according to the setting. A support used at school may need different arrangements elsewhere.
