A raised toilet seat adds height to an existing toilet. Choosing one involves two separate checks: whether the fixing system suits the toilet and whether the resulting seating height suits the person using it. A taller option is not automatically the right choice.
Our Max Mobility Delta range includes 2-inch, 4-inch and 6-inch raised toilet seats with lids. This guide compares those three models and the information to gather before ordering.
Compare the three height options
These measurements describe the additional seat raise, not the total height from the floor. Quintro lists the approximate metric equivalents shown below.
| Model | Seat raise | Supplier metric equivalent | Product code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delta RTS2 | 2 inches | Approximately 50 mm | 14001 |
| Delta RTS4 | 4 inches | Approximately 100 mm | 14002 |
| Delta RTS6 | 6 inches | Approximately 150 mm | 14003 |
All three current supplier listings specify moulded plastic construction, a lid, adjustable rubber-coated brackets, tool-free fitting and a maximum user weight of 120 kg. They are separate height options; do not assume a single seat adjusts between all three heights.
Start with your existing toilet
Record the toilet make and model if known. Note its shape, the existing seating arrangement and any unusual rim or fitting details. Have this information ready when asking whether a particular seat will fit.
The supplier describes brackets for most standard toilet bowls. That is not a guarantee of compatibility with every toilet. Check the exact product instructions and resolve any uncertainty before ordering, especially where the toilet has an unusual shape or another fitted accessory.
Choose height for the individual setup
Compare the current seating height with the added height of the model you are considering. The numbers on the product names cannot determine which option suits a particular person.
If the seat is being chosen for an injury, post-operative requirement or care plan, ask the treating occupational therapist or other appropriate healthcare professional to help assess the height and equipment needed. Do not select a model solely because it offers the greatest raise or is described elsewhere as a popular size.
Check the fitting and removal requirements
Tool-free fitting is a product feature, not a substitute for following the supplied instructions. Confirm how the brackets are meant to engage with the toilet, what needs to be removed or retained, and how the installed seat should be checked before use.
If it will be removed for another household member or taken elsewhere, assess the new toilet separately. A seat that fits one bathroom cannot be assumed to fit the next. Keep the instructions with the product.
Compare what is included
Each of these three listings includes a lid. Check the complete product details before ordering rather than assuming a separate rail, support frame or other accessory comes with the seat.
A toilet seat raiser, a toilet support frame and a commode are different products. If additional support is needed, assess the full setup and compatibility rather than adding an accessory based only on its name.
