The Kaiko Finger Spikey Set is a combo of our two sizes in the finger spikey range. It is the best way to explore preferance and function. Both provide firm and textured sensory feedback when rolled up and down the finger.

Ideally suited to those that like strong sensory input. They are made of a powder coated metal that is 'woven' to be stretchy and flexible with firm input to the fingers.

The Kaiko Wrist & Finger Spikey Fidgets are one of our most popular fidgets for those who need deep and focused pressure to assist with self regulation. They are an ideal fidget for those who pick at their skin, fingernails and clothing.

We have had amazing feedback regarding this tool. Especially for those who live with anxiety. We have had particularly good feedback from those who pick or self-harm. For many they provide 'ouch' without damaging the skin. Of course, the spikey fidget does not replace accessing professional help. It is a useful tool for the kit-bag.

The Kaiko Spikey helps with self regulation, calming, focus, concentration, tactile awareness and as a substitution for unhealthy/unhelpful behaviours.

We have also had a number of customers report it being helpful in reducing pain, swelling & disturbed sensation in fingers. The finger spikeys are touted to have remedial benefit, stimulating acupressure points & assisting with circulation. Please consult your treating clinician regarding their use for your specific condition.

Size is not so much about finger size but more about level on constriction you prefer. The 'tighter' spikey is much firmer to roll. If using it to twist around finger to replace picking or clench fist when its on for "ouch' then the bigger of the two is better generally.

Feedback from one of our lovely customers Sally ... "I don’t think I initially understood quite what they would feel like. I was a bit concerned that the spikey might be a bit too pinchy and overwhelming but I was delighted to discover that it’s very similar to running your fingers over the bristles of a plastic hairbrush."

Also check out its “big brother” wrist spikey.

Some ways to use the spikey...
Roll up & down the finger. It can be rolled using the same hand or alternate hand. This is great for focus.
Rub between two palms for a scratchy feel.
Hold in one or two hands to fidget.
Place on finger & twist around using thumb (similar to a 'Chinese burn') applying varying degrees of pressure-dependent on preference. This technique has been particularly helpful for some in minimising self-harm. It can provide the 'hurt' without harm to the skin. Of course, the spikey fidget does not replace accessing professional help. It is a useful tool for the kit-bag.
Place on one finger at the base (middle finger often best) & squeeze/clench fist. This is, for most, the way they use it for harm minimisation.
Please note if wearing the spikey for any period of time that it is important to monitor the skin to ensure it is not compromising circulation.

You can slightly stretch the metal, working around it to create a looser feel if preferred. Needs to be done bit by bit and section by section to create an even stretch. (See video). Please note once stretched it cannot be un stretched. If overstretched it will become out of shape and not return to its original form. Thus, not suitable for those that like to pull at things with two hands, like to pull things apart or generally like to test limits of products.

If wanting to wear it or alter sensory input you can gently over stretch it to increase its size. To do this take your time and very slowly work around ring with both hands putting tension on metal. Over stretching will cause it to loose shape and it will not rebound.

Features:

Age 3+ (not suitable for under 3’s)
Expandable carbon steel metal material.

Warning:

Choking hazard. Small parts.

Soft and inviting, the Spikey Finger Fidget is a favourite of many users with anxiety or unhealthy behaviours. The Spikey Finger Fidget Set of 2 only intensifies this experience, offering two times the stress relief. Purchase this for yourself or anyone who does well with tactile stimulation.

Spikey Finger Fidget Details

Two fidgets come in a handy container for easy transport and storage. Each is made of a powdered and coated carbon steel. This fine material is designed to be flexible.

Who It's For

These fidgets are excellent for self-regulation. Those with nervous tendencies who need a positive outlet to release excess energy and stress benefit greatly from use. They're also a nice distraction for people with bad habits, such as smoking, picking, pen clicking, hair twirling, and tapping.

How it Helps

Playing with this stimulation toy often brings a sense of calm. It improves concentration, focus, listening, and learning. Plus, it increases fine motor skills, circulation, tactile awareness, strength, and coordination. In addition, the Spikey Finger Fidget supports mental health and promotes emotional regulation. All around, it's a beneficial product that boasts many stress-relieving qualities for children, teens, and adults.

Who It's Not For

The Spikey Fidget isn't for children under the age of three. Also, it's fragile when compared to other stimulating toys. Due to the soft metal composition, it won't regain its shape if it's stretched too much. Therefore, this isn't an ideal tool for those who like to pull things apart or test the durability limits of a product.

Ways to Use the Spikey Fidget

Rolling the Spikey up and down the fingers is the go-to method for many fans. For those inclined to self-harm, doing this intensely can cause a pressure sensation, satisfying the tactile craving to inflict physical punishment without actually hurting or damaging the skin. Rubbing the toy between the palms also works well.

While it is a family business, the dedication to achieving top quality products is present within Kaiko. The company strives to show attention to detail, and they have a strict quality control process. Since 2017, Kaiko has become one of the most recognised Australian fidget brands. The company continues to grow, and Sensory Assist is proud to showcase its products as a part of our selection.

If you’re looking for Kaiko Fidgets, check our selection today. We offer toys and tools that help children with different special needs.

Kaiko Fidgets began in 2017 when the creator, Kai, saw a lack of fidget styles and designs in the Australian market. He needed them for himself, as he struggled with dyslexia and autism. By the age of 11, he started to make designs with the help of his mother. One of his first designs was a metal fidget, which quickly became popular in his area.

The family began Kaiko Fidgets after seeing a business opportunity. Its name is a combination of Kai and his younger brother, Kobi, and the company showcases the siblings’ favourite colours within the brand. With the help of their parents, they have been able to develop different types of fidgets and toys to help special needs children.

With a careful selection of products and materials, each product can assist with a person’s daily life. For example, some tools are for harm minimisation, while others give a soft and soothing feeling. Other products are similar to the fidgets, providing rhythmic stimming, which helps against anxiety. The goal is to provide support to a wide range of needs.

                      FAQs

                      Keeping the fidgets sanitised.

They are fine to wipe , the trick is to wipe excess moisture off them. If left wet/damp they can rust in appearance a little but generally does not affect function. Wiping with an antibacterial wipe or damp cloth then drying off thoroughly is the key.

                      To shorten necklace:

Simply cut and retie knot at each end to the desired length & pull knot back into the casing of the clasp. We find the easiest way to find optimum length is to have arms at right angle across belly. The bead length should be about at this height.
