Choose the height that lets the child sit with both feet flat on the floor and knees bent comfortably at roughly a right angle. They should be able to sit in the centre and make small, controlled movements without stretching to reach the floor. Age and overall height are starting points only: leg length, balance and the desk setup also affect the fit.

Check the desk too: allow comfortable clearance for the knees and thighs, with shoulders relaxed when working at the table. Measure the seat height of a chair that already fits well and compare it with 37 cm or 45 cm.
